It's true that kids say the darndest things...I have come to know my daughter so much better by listening to what she says and just loving the way her little mind puts things together at this tender age. I decided that I need to start keeping track and will add to this post as the wisdom grows.
1. I am putting insulin into my pump and she says, " Mom, are you taking your medicine?...Well, when I was a big girl, I loose to take medicine too..."
2. I told her that I made her chalkboard when she was in my belly. She says, "Well, when you were in my belly, I was the mommy and you were my BABY!"
3. Like some kids I have known, she still holds her arms up to me and says, "I want to hold you..." I will never get sick of that and do believe that I need it more than she does at times...so her wording seems fitting.
4. She has the most compassionate heart and is so tender with all her babies and any animal she comes in contact with. When she speaks to them or about them, her voice raises 2 octives (if that is even possible) and she cups her little hands and says something so very sweet. Today in the public restroom at the park (YUCK), we saw a rather large spider on the wall. In the exact voice and mannerism described above, she said, "OHHHH...Mommy look at the wittle baby spider...he's so cute and he misses his daddy and mommy:)" Perspective folks! Perspective. I decided not to kill that spider at that moment.

Mommy and me painted faces!
We were not exactly sure where she got the idea from, but when Grandma and I took The little Mama to a craft Boutique today, she was insistent that she have her face painted...There was no face painter in sight, so she was pretty upset. When we got home, mommy did the next best thing...We used watercolors from her new paint book to draw kitten faces on ourselves...SHE DID MINE...yes, that is BROWN fur on my chin, and she INSISTED that she have Blue Eyebrows:) I LOVE HER!
Schroder Larsen
Since I didn't mention this little fella in my "about me" song and dance...Here he is...This picture was taken the day we got him...OH HOW WE WERE DUPED! He seems sweet...Right? Well in his defense, he is. BUT...he is also, neurotic, anxious, hyper, and plain CRAZY most of the time. We love him to death, but do NOT expect anyone else to feel the same.
The Eyes of a Child
I loved this picture from the moment I saw it...My sister Suzanne took it the week we went to Wyoming for my grandfather's funeral. I was always surprised at how serious my infant daughter could look when she wanted to. It's like she knows more than I do...and she's trying to say..."Mom, don't be an idiot!"
Even though you may say, "BLAH, another mother who thinks her child is brilliant...", I don't care. I do think, in some cases, you can learn more from a child than they can learn from you.
